Kree Harrison was born and raised in Woodville, Texas. At three, Harrison asked her pastor if she could sing during church. The request was accepted and after she sang, her pastor commented, “I was expecting Jesus Loves Me, but she belted out Ell Shaddai by amy Grant. I knew then this child had a special gift.” Ocer the next several years, Harrison sang for churches, rodeos, weddings and competitions. At eight, she was the opening act for R&B performer Percy Sledge. At nine, she won “Artist of the Year” from Kirbyville Playhouse, and at ten, she sang on The Rosie O’Donnell Show and was invited back on three other occasions. Harrison scored a development deal with Lyric Street Records at ten, which resulted in her family moving from Woodville to Nashville. After two years with Lyric Street she parted ways with no music being released due to creative differences. Harrision began writing her own songs at the age of fourteen and often found herself in writing sessions with Nashville’s hit writers. At sixteen, Harrision landed her first publishing deal with Crysalis Records. She performed across local venues in Nashville such as the legendary Bluebird Café, as well as BMI showcases in Florida, such as the Key West Songwriters Festival and the Sandestin Music Festival. She also sang backup vocals on Kacey Musgraves’ album, “Same Trailer Different Park,” and Eli Young Band’s album, “Life At Best.”
In 2013 Kree auditioned in Oklahoma City, OK for American Idol Season 12. She would eventually make it to the final round of the show before being deemed the runner up of the season. Harrision toured with “Americna Idol Live!” until her contract obligations released her of any further commitment and returned to Nashville, TN to further pursue her writing and sound.
In February of 2015 Harrison started working independent music company, Plaid Flag Music, in preparation for her debut record to be released in early 2016. Harrison is collaborating with many of Nashville’s top songwriters and vocalists to bring her voice to the forefront of country music fans all over the world. On September 2nd, 2015 Harrison signed an exclusive recording contract with Plaid Flag Music with plans for a single to be released in 2016.
